December Marathon

The don’t of seasonal viewing, the backlog. In order to gauge annual perspective, I’ve adopted a Year-end Marathon habit. When vacation arrives in December, I shall be on the prowl. 2007 held interesting methodology, since I was constantly in motion across the Eastern half of the United States.

In circumstances, it is possibly to marathon a double-season (~24-26 episodes) in a single day, I’ve allotted extra time just in case. Still, December looks busy.

Year 2011 Changes

Sadly, I was unable to do any sort of marathon in Dec 2010 once gaining a professional position in grand corporate America, but settling in has yielded some extra time, though I have a different focus. For 2011 I’ve been working through relevant interest works, either something that was watched or blogged by others this year, or generated very positive reaction from the sphere. So, here we are then:

  • Wandering Son (12 episodes, Winter 2011)
  • Steins;Gate (18/26 episodes, Spring 2011, w/roghek)
  • Hanasaku Iroha (16/25 episodes, Spring 2011)
  • Revolutionary Girl Utena (22/39 episodes)
  • Penguindrum (10 episodes, Summer 2011)
  • Tiger and Bunny (Spring 2011)
  • Macross Zero (5 episodes, macross-inspired)
  • Super Dimensional Fortress Macross (36 episodes, sccsav-inspired)
  • Kemono no Souja Erin (kitsune-inspired)
  • Gosick

Year 2009 Changes

This year, I’m wanting to try and modify the Year-end timing. While the annual rankings and genre/character awards will still surface come early January, I’ll be leaving out unfinished works, and possibly a number of Fall series.

The full year perspective should surface around March of next year (thanks Mike), but it will mostly be modifications to the January posts and some extra thoughts.

What does this effect?
The bleed-over series will be included by the year they premiered in, rather than the year they last aired. Fall 2008 series will be updated into the 2008 Year-end pages (likely).
