Cut DVD, Go to Class, Gintama-effect

The story goes…

I was reluctantly up this morning, preparing breakfast, and passively watching an episode of Gintama. I ended up mixing in the morning RSS feeds while this was all happening, and then started a previously unexperience episode from the series (27).

The bearded Virgo will die…

Naturally, I wasn’t minding the time, but I was laughing my face off, yet I paused to read some feed articles and time was actually getting tight. I resumed the episode playing the in DVD player, and I knew I should be leaving; I wasn’t going to.

Nearing the end of the episode, the DVD player simply cuts off. Was it a broken disc? broken player? broken TV?

WHAT THE HELL!?
I felt trolled

Lucky for me, I decided to have a little more promptness in life than most of the awesome characters in Gintama, and I turned off the tube, packed my stuff, and headed out the door. Many minutes later, I strolled into class… ON-Time. (I haven’t been on-time for weeks now.) Yet…

How does that feel, hmmm….
….that withheld feeling

To be cut short on something enjoyable, when factually the time wasn’t up. Sure disapointing in a way, but you know what, Sa-chan would say that withholding only increases the excitement, and though I’m not that type of M guy… it is kinda hot.

Some time ago, I posted about watching Gintama, and supposedly I posted about my weekly 3-day spans away from home (at school inland), but the point is these things mix well.

So what is it about Gintama? Compared to Keroro, I’d say the comedy isn’t as LOL, but more like OMGSMILE. I find it similar to black comedy in a sense. There isn’t much substance, but it feels good, and I understand why it is in SJ, but am confused about it at the same time. My initial impressions have held pretty well, and the series has filled nicely into the mold.

Ahem, so these mid-week spans inland aren’t very “season friendly” since my notebook is the only box I have, and most everything is not on it, but it’s great to have some Gintama and Keroro episodes to tag along. Usually, I wake up in the morning, watch a Saved By The Bell rerun, check the email, etc. and then throw on a couple episodes of Gintama. Totally lightens the day, and it’s not like there’s a definite plot to follow; episodic, comedy, and gold.

It keeps the punches rolling. Leisurely experiencing Gintama is definitely keeping me in the anime vibe and away from getting jaded. I don’t really care that I’m 80 episodes behind; I’m strolling, not burning, and I love it. Definitely a righteous little cure for burn-out/downtime/whatever.

Winged Wicked Things

So after 8 login attempts, I’m here….

WordPress is freaking out on me, or perhaps I’m misinterpreting the 10 drafts (8 which have been published already). Anyway… crazy software

Guess what? I actually am watching anime once more, rather than? Well, I’m not sure what I was doing in the afternoons of recent weeks, but I think it had something to do with the Sukuran manga and/or 料理 (りょうり).

The important part is me watching anime, but it’s not current whatsoever. Gintama and OverDrive are the culprits, but the latter is proving quite a disappointment by way of direction and production; the story and characters are fine I suppose. I haven’t ridden far into Gintama, but I like the atmospheric yield (can one argue with spins on the Meiji ^^).

This is a blog

I have finally imported my Lifera settings from home server, to my current workstation, both (server and workstation) were revamped in recent weeks, and I was being lazy migrating my /home/ryan folder to the workstation (ubuntu server and desktop, respectively).

Just under 300 unread items, and I feel good about the “rain-checking” (if I watch the episode, I’m going to comment, really don’t care how late I am to the party… sometimes, that’s better, esp. if a certain law enforment agency was there previously).

Blogpocalypse is another blog, which I finally updated, though I lost some files in the migration, and yea, had to use some random image.

Oh, Ryan, what?

So I decided to write this late evening, as I sat and threw some nice things at the uTorrent. Let’s see, it’s Summer, and I felt like screwing the season as usual and going for some Keroro Gunsou, Tsubasa, and Gintama seasons. Unfortunately, I have little to reflect upon aside from some jasmine tea brewing before me, which will be golden in a few minutes (it’s quite the drink before sleep).

Lately, I’ve been working on an API at melative and keeping up with athletic affairs; the API is basically good to roll, and FF extension + File Manager is in the mix. Oh, but what is this? School Rumble… mmmhmm, after about 5-6pm each day I’ve been catching up with the old acquaintance. Also, twitter has been a good outlet for randomness and such, but entirely unrelated to this blog ^_^.

I just don’t have much to write here, Blogpocalypse is going, but I am stalled with having files/writing on multiple computers (need less computers). Anything I experience will likely be reflected on melative, and dammit if I haven’t reinstalled my OPML blogroll to read around the otakusphere.

I cannot find boredom, it has forsaken me!
