And just when we believed 2006 was some sort of awesome… the dawn of 2007. Alright, that’s probably not totally true. With the end of 2007 drawing near, it is time for year-end reflections. Yes, it is that time when bloggers confront their senses and memories with “best-of” questions. Yes, it is time to see the outcome of the pearly hands we were all dealt as viewers. Who wins? Who loses? What happened in 2007 that makes this a memorable year? Yes, all these things, will not be lost in time, they are just ahead.

Wow, I knew it when I finished Baccano! last night, but has a marathon ever given a fresh light to this world of anime? I was beginning to feel a bit static with the Autumn season habits. The series are awesome, but personally, my viewing habits, yuh. It’s like: Gundam 00, and Shana on Monday nights, Dragonaut on Fridays, Minami-ke on Thursdays, etc etc etc. Wait… that’s a schedule! Damn the schedule! This is probably a negative disposition to have, but schedules take my life away; I have trouble with them.

Moyashimon begins with an interesting premise, there is a boy who can “see” microbes. From the initial screens I found of the episode 01, I had little idea what the animation was like. After a couple good mentions among the anime bloggers, I had to give it a shot; hooked first episode.

So I’m in the middle of a good mini-marathon with Baccano! Right now dawning episode 6. I was planning on resuming with episode 7 and finishing first thing tomorrow, but oh something good came up!

For the season, ef has surpassed my expectations better than any other. It’s probably wrong heading into a series thinking, “This is going to fail, I’m gonna drop it.” I didn’t necessarily feel as so, because of SHAFT, heaven save them [ from themselves ], was the studio; I was willing to toss in the chips and my keys. Yet, my assumptions were invalid, and I love being wrong here.
