Dreams of the Year Behind :: 2007

miko

And just when we believed 2006 was some sort of awesome… the dawn of 2007. Alright, that’s probably not totally true. With the end of 2007 drawing near, it is time for year-end reflections. Yes, it is that time when bloggers confront their senses and memories with “best-of” questions. Yes, it is time to see the outcome of the pearly hands we were all dealt as viewers. Who wins? Who loses? What happened in 2007 that makes this a memorable year? Yes, all these things, will not be lost in time, they are just ahead.

Kallen!!!

After a long weekend, I’m glad to be able to relax and catch up with GEASS. I left the raw watching at 19 and the subs at 18, a good move to break at, I think; the excitment is high! (more…)

Kanon :24: Hello Bye Bye

Saturday, March 17th, 2007

Well, tehe, Kanon finished much different than I had expected. Previously I thought Ayu was down-and-out of the ordeal, but…

Comatos

Poor thing. I’m not going to go into the story or theory on the magic that takes the cake for Kanon’s story, but it was enjoyable, heartfelt, and turned out light. (more…)

Kanon :: And the Beauty …

Thursday, March 15th, 2007

I don’t have any pictures for this, but I thought a funny little thing while I was watching NHK International on the tele this morning. First, a personal update on the Kanon 2006 anime.

I haven’t caught up reading the reflections on other blogs, but Kanon has been great in these closing episodes. No beef here. The sadness is grand and glorious, the animation is near top-notch (*coughB5cm*), but I’m slightly confused with where the last episode will finalize Yuuichi, his grief and his harem.

Episode 23, apparently Ayu has voyaged away for final? I suppose, which leaves a one brilliant Nayuki for the finale/closing. If it isn’t a grand finale, it’ll be reconciliation. I feel she’s taken a harsh ride, and over the course I come to believe she’s #1, poor kawaii girl. The harem is basically over though, since Yuuichi chose Ayu a couple episode ago, so Episode 24?

Anyway, I’m sure the subs will be out later today, and hopefully, may be, possibly, if I’m feeling up to it, motivated, I’ll recap/review or something on Kanon 2006.

Oh, the NHK note (the TV channel). While the Japanese news segment was closing off this morning (there’s English and Japanese segments), I heard this familiar tune, the Kanon theme. I’d have never thought a news broadcast would close with that melody; I was quite stunned. Hah ^^
