Midway Flux :: Myself;Yourself

myself;yourself Yuzuki-sensei has a good sense about her.

I’ve rooted through the willy shakers, the perilous evils of the mind, and found my way to light! -_-,

One thing M;Y lacks is a strong story thread. I don’t want to be negative about it, but it makes the series more like a slice-of-life main dish, though it originally felt like the story would be progressive. The downfall to the way M;Y is presenting is that it just doesn’t connect the characters as strongly as say…. Kanon, where the connections between Yuuichi, et al. were built like a beach house on the Florida coast (for reference, that means very strong).

So what’s the good? Well, somehow the series provides a shit-ton of random elements which add flavor to the slice-of-life dish. Some of the goods include, the retirement home oba-chan foreshadowing some dark+freaksish ceremony, 2 full episodes of Hinako loliness, and recently Yuzuki-sensei; she’s a highlight. The abundance of these elements (also, Syuuri issue with Wakatsuki-tosan) gives the viewer much to enjoy (elderly gaming tournaments) or not (live neko burials wtf), but there are some questions I have.

What the hell is with the OP? Are the characters going to make music, or are they just so musical they don’t need to? Okay, that’s about it.

Myself;Yourself is the Dollar Store of random, unnecessary, but often enjoyable elements. I’ll keep following it because I’d like to see the relationship progress between the Sana and Nanaka. I don’t see it having a serious downturn, unless those loli sacrifices really happen; I’m not into that stuff, so I’ll be finishing this one as the weekly stroll continues.
