Glancing cokematic’s decade list via Kitsune, and I must say, seems that most of the titles are post-2005, but it’s probably on a 40/60 split. Was the first half of the decade that much weaker?

Would be nice if these lists had year [and season] annotated.

Imo 2005-2007 were exceptionally strong for me … Haruhi, Ouran Host Club, 5 Centimeters per Second, Honey and Clover etc… Kinda of like a skewed bell curve.

The year and season annotation is a great idea… now if only I weren’t so lazy :(

Plus I moved to Asia after 2007, exposure to anime films etc also made abit of a difference.

My experience with anime/manga really took off around 2005. It’s hard finding time for the old stuff while staying current with the new series. Not that they’re bad but there’s only 24 hours in a day…

I should generate my own list… either that or update my old MAL account for ease of future usage.

@Cokematic makes sense. I have no issues with skews :) just thought it was interesting, and I had to poke since I’m not familiar with the early 2000s.

@FFVIIKnight you said it man! Seasonal vs Classics/Batches/Marathons. Yessir do the list, I output mine via melative. Would say to import, but I killed cross posting for security reasons.

And I think I’ll do a list after all.

  4. [...] is oooollldddd. Thanks, Sasa! edit2: Removed Excel Saga, that started airing in 1999, and as RyanA suggested, I’ve added the season, year it started airing, and studio. I’ll have some [...]

I took up your suggestion and added the year and season… working on some number crunching but your split is close; its 68% post 2005

Note 2006-2007 has 19 spots in the top 50

Also looking forward to your list!
