For me, Umisho is the most uplifting comedy this season, and I’d say top 5-6 for the year (*ponders LovCom, Hayate … Haruhi! oh my*). Why do I say this? Well, the keyword is uplifting, and it isn’t classic, but the left-field orderves served up at random are so momentarily blissful.
Episode 8 has some nice moments. No, these aren’t classic, but for Summer, it does a fair job at comedy, and a great job with mood and tone. It just feels so refreshing. Really, there isn’t anything heavy about it, but it is a briskly paced experience.

General Umisho highlights (not episode specific):
- Shinuzoka and her fetishes
- Amuro and being playful
- The Captain and his random need to be nude, or random need to mahjong
- Maaya and her inadequacies
- Small town by the sea, given
- Swimming, given
So Umisho hasn’t given me sudden urges to swim [ or be naked ], but it is one of the better ones of Summer. I think it may have a contender if I decide to rocket through Potemayo, which I think I just decided on after reading Demian’s post. My only scuff with it is that Umisho is scheduled for a quick 13 episodes, so I hope the end leave room for more.

Frankly, I’m going to watch this. I’m just waiting for this series to finish subbing. Then I’m going to marathon it.
The quintessential anime fanboy need is sated: tits and ass. What more could I ask for? ^^;;
The need is met! Some of the latter outdoor bath scenes are quite distracting, but the ecchiness is playful and laughable. I’d also say that 25% of the ecchi nature comes from Captain Ikamasa being nude and wanting to have shaving parties, etc.
One ep to go.
