Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei. This series vibes like an alternate form Satou and Misaki, with a tender blend of the recent Negima!? series. Everything is relative at times.

I felt sick at the opening scene, but the characters are intriguing. First episode was interesting, but it took some slight adjusting, because ZetsuSensei feels very “off-the-path” in many shots (colors, style, themes, etc).

Second episode was very good, super enjoyable, and comedic. Character dynamics are fantastic at this point. I’m assuming, there will be a sort of intro for other characters in Itoshiki-sensei’s class, much like intro for Negima’s students. Episode solidifies its place in my Summer viewing priorities.

That strange montauge during this episode ties nicely to that random-psychadelic feel that NHK held so well. It really feels similar in ways, but still very different (not as depressing at this point). Satou was much more a downer than Itoshiki, but Itoshiki wins the negativity contest. The greater the hope, the greater the despair on FAIL. Itoshiki sounds like he’s lost all hope, while Satou was a daydreamer but never could match his dreams, anyway…
Whether this series will attempt to deal with suicide or general outlooks on life, looks probable, but the delivery is looking great so far. I anticipate more episodes!

The apparent intentional use of static backgrounds when it comes to clothing is kind of cool, and amusing.
For me as well, the opening was so ~ so when I first saw it.
But even though I don’t like it very much I think it’s fitting.
Simplicity is a very good support for the overall comedy, in my opinion. =)
The stalker chain still makes me laugh; even though its only a picture.

This show is awesome, Ryan.
Oh, and the girls are cute D:
