Quickly, before the day requires more of my attention. Spring impressions of Hayate no Gotoku and Idol Master Xenoglossia (unexpected, but not uninvited… I don’t know what that means ;_;).
Hayate no Gotoku
SS-Eclipse FTW!!! I haven’t actually watched the subs but I checked out the raw at least twice. First time through it was so-so, but second time through I had a better feeling. I don’t believe it will be brilliant or anything, but relatively comparing to Shakugan no Shana and Zero no Tsukaima, HnG will stand well in a certain aspect. I noticed that Hayate is not anything like Yuuji or Saito. I’m not saying this will make it better/worse, but its different from those two. Hayate isn’t weak (from the start), and from what I’ve seen Nagi isn’t very strong. I feel that’s pretty distinct.
The comedy is slightly lacking, but I found some unspoken comedy; example. Hayate comes home to an abandoned home, thugs come to get him, tell him about his organs, and Bam! Hayate front-flips out of the freaking window, there wasn’t even a pause or a negation argument.

We’re taking these

Escape Route 0

Not taking these organs
I.M. Xenoglossia
Ero-mecha!! That was sort of strange. Apparently, the mech are “hentai” or are run off the cuteness of the idols?? I’m not exactly sure, because I was thinking to myself, just before Haruka’s mech sprouted the Spring of youth (start around 17:35), why do the pilots need to be “IDOLS”? Dunno. Oh and I realize that I didn’t even plan on checking this out, but I had Tosho fever (RSS filter category 7) and started clicking on stuff. So…
The characters are cute with variety, and the interaction moves quick. There were some bits that reminded me of things past, like uh…

Buildings submerged in ocean. Hmmm.

Astroid belt made from a destroyed moon… hmmmmm.
This is Sunrise+Bandai, so. Other meager random thoughts:

Pen-Pen! You’re a cell!

Where do I put this again?

ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME?
