Pumpkin Scissors

“Aku Soku Zan” Holy hell, did those words really just leave her lips as she unsheathed her sword! Calm down lovely Shinsengumi, you have a team of 3 and there’s no way you can take down that tank.

My ultra-brief series description: The Pumpkin Scissors are a special forces? team of the Empire’s military. Their duty is to aid in the war relief effort, but their conflicts stem from ex-miliatary bad guys wanting to “run shit”.

Alice is the Scissors’ fiery Lieutenant, who is ready for action, but does she have much experience herself (guess so)? While in a village they are trying to save from mercenary control, Alice and the Scissors meet a large, dark, but warm teddybear (okay huge bad-ass teddy bear) looking fellow by the name of Randall Orland. They will fight, they have the knowledge and determination!

The atmospere of this show is pretty good, and the characters see to be mostly complex, though sort of typical within the context in their actions/expressions/etc. Complexity should be expected, since the setting is post-war. I was under the impression that the Empire was on the losing end of the ceasefire agreement, but even so, it is the citizen (if that’s what they are called) who seem to be in a struggle now. Orlan is a dangerous man, very hardcore.
My relations: I find that the general feel of Pumpkin Scissors is similar to FMP! action, a world a bit more developed than that of FMA, and a group of characters that may bond in a way much like the 008th Team MS. Alice! Alice has this awesome vibe, it’s not quite tsundere, but she is excited. She is also very direct/serious, which reminds me of Saber a bit. The Scissors are supposed to be an easy-going unit ^_^; sort of, but with Alice leading, I am not sure how that idea ever stuck. It looks pretty solid from here, and I was impressed enough with Pumkin Scissors to be looking forward to the next episode (after that who knows).

I apologize for the lack of screen captures.
