The Why … and Randomness

Yaay for the park!

Something has been plaguing me, a couple things, the most recent being Road Kamelot. Why? Why in the hell do I find this character swexy? Call me a fanboy, but I just want to see her do the whole lollipop wishlist on Santa’s lap thing. Strange thing is, I don’t find her that “loli”, but she is a weirdo… and I kinda dig that… weirdos! YSSS!

O_O

So the other thing that was bugging me a bit has to do with the shounen genre vs Yamato Nadeshiko daa–da-daa. A couple posts ago I compounded my fall interests but had not given Yamato a chance; also in the list was Busou Renkin. Call me silly, but I just didn’t “feel” the shounen bla bla blah at all. Its too damn righteous, makes me want to be not righteous. I’ve almost had enough input of “I-want-to-save-the-world… but-I-don’t-want-anyone-to-die”. Seriously! Kenshin was bad ass, the manga even better; I get the point. I don’t need 17 [thousand] leads running around screaming, “This isn’t right! I won’t let you!” with their little “Righteousness” T-shirts sized accordingly.

Perhaps I just can’t take default anymore. By default, I mean that the righteousness vibe is something I follow, its cool, yet I’m just a bit tired of seeing these characters “defaulting” to the mechanism [that's what I meant]. I feel I could think up some crazy-rad synopsis for a piece of media, for one I could do it with some f’ed up genre that doesn’t even exists; say something purely about politicians in a free democratic republic. Now that probably doesn’t seem appealling, and thats the point. Yamato Nadeshiko didn’t seem appealling to me the first time I viewed the first ep, but… the second time around I was okay with the “dazzling creature” she-male things, NP NP.

So onto this whole politician anime or whatever, yea, I thought about it a bit while driving home from the coast, and I figure that there has to be turnmoil in the Senate yada yada, but the real deal is with the characters. It could probably be argued that the hocus-pocus of extreme storylines aren’t the main points of the media (I’m not talking about news), but really it is characters and character interaction [with other characters and the situation] that compel some to experience a given media. The extreme of character driven media is “reality television”, which I despise, simply because the “characters” are too typical, everyone sees their view as the “correct” one. (see reference to The Story of B on cultural impression of correctness on “lesser” cultures) This policital main character would be somewhat of a renegade. They’re new in the political scene, but they aren’t afraid to lose, but they still have something to accomplish, without conforming to the “righteous” spirit. *thinks Spike*

That would be the closest this lead comes, Spike, but he was a bit selfish and didn’t really accomplish a whole lot for many people. But this lead, I’ll call Lead-K, isn’t out to shove the errors of 25 years of corruption and war down the other politicians throats, Lead-K only wants to carry out some undescribed (probably not describable) and unthinkable goal. Come to think of it what was Fujioka’s goal in Ouran, IDK! Damn, this is getting out of hand.

So short, main character

  • never have a clue about what Lead-K will do - if the viewer sees two choices, somehow Lead-K will create a 3rd option
  • unknown objectives
  • somewhat indifferent attitude
  • not righteous, or blessed with super-power

but…

  • charismatic in the nature of Che, or Chan (via Lagoon) when needed
  • smart, but not Light
  • powerful, but not the one in power
  • sometimes energetic
  • etc

Basically UNSTABLE, in a good way! Take Salinger’s Holden Caulfield 10 years later, mixed with the good-vibing Ernesto from I, Che, Guevara, and overtones of Spike (who is basically a combination of Jin+Mugen of sorts). Sooo, blend that up, but toss in some especially charismatic attributes that urges even straight people flock (is that even possible?). And then, mix it (IT, rofl) with some ordinary characters (especially like overweight politicians who are greedy, but Lead-K actually is friends with them for some unknown reason), and whamo! Alright, the ordinary thing might not cut it so let’s make most of the main characters everyday persons who say and do realistically unpredictable things. Damn SPIF!

Ugh, I’m a mess… I’m going to go draw this Lead-K… maybe…

ps. Yamato I enjoy. Negi Magister OVA is like ultimate fanservice’R'us (my eyes feel used [by the Chupa]). Revy has like the best damn legs ever! Millay makes a fantastic++ neko~mi~mo~! Lulu does too? wth. Pumkin Schodinger IDK? And… in the style of Tomo-chan -> YaaaaaaaaY! Edit: Soukou no Strain does not hold back on the shower scenes O_O!

Dude, you are just feeling real horny, and I agree with you on all the hormone related stuff X). And Road isn’t all that bad, she has a humane side to her, but its painfully limited to her kazoku. She does seem to have good tongue technique though…

Mmm, damn I almost forgot what this post was about. Don’t really remember O_O But I didn’t actually notice until I screen-capped that shot, but its not unusual since its the “villian licking the hero’s blood off their death weapon of choice”. Just happens to be a frickin candy-sicle. Road should have been one of the traps in that game Candyland. probably
