So Kanon is about the only thing I’ve really been blogging at a steady rate, but I enjoy it. Its the little things that get me. Episode 7 is more progressive, and I even found it a bit spooky, but I found it more enjoyable than watching Yuuichi prance his sarcasm pony as in the previous episodes (even though there is still a bit of it).
The first 7-8 minutes mostly showed Naiyuki [and cuteness], so I’m glad; the neko scene was cuteXfunny. Naiyuki and Makoto tie for awesome points this episode, over the other girlies, but this isn’t the importance of the episode. I’d say that we don’t learn much about Makoto’s past, but her nature and perceptions. She isn’t very bright, for one, but she has a simple, but nurturing presence. I had to argue this feeling see what she did with the little neko, but it turned out nicely. I understood her, though I believe one of two things about the incident. 1) Makoto “knew” that the kitty would be okay (doubtful). 2) She didn’t even realize her actions, and as Yuuichi said, she sought the kitty after their argument. I don’t really know which is correct, but I’d like to believe that Makoto was doing a “good” deed by wishing for the kitty’s freedom, but also, what about her own freedom. I’m sure she doesn’t realize much about herself, but I believe there is a foreshadowning of Makoto’s freedom, whatever that may be.
All keys are pointing to the importance of Makoto in the next couple episodes. We see a new face, Amano, who shows concern over Makoto. Mai points Yuuichi to the forest, where Mai “feels” Makoto will be; also a fox watching Yuuichi carry Makoto home. Then there is the episode preview, all Makoto shots and phrases. This was expected, but my concern is the music that was playing in the midnight eatery scene. That was some freaky music, I was scared, seriously. Anyway, something lurks in Makoto’s future, but it all seems that this is for the “benefit” of the main character, Yuuichi, though if the future holds a beautiful sadness, I don’t feel Yuuichi is worthy of it. I just hope he is serious when it comes to sentiment. Good episode, can’t wait for more!

First comment! Ahahahahha.
Makoto is indeed cute, but she’s awfully childish, and it’ll be explained soon enough. Nevertheless, making miso soup is a bath is really unforgivable. I would just freak out at the wastage.
*sips his miso soup* yeeesshhh ^^ can’t waste miso
Makoto’s whole interaction with the cat is very telling of what her past is and where her future is heading. This is about the point where Makoto is happiest I think, as things start going down with Amano’s introduction. It will definately be a ” beautiful ” sadness.
