Blending with the Combat Butler

Given, I never did finish 2007’s first season of Hayate, but I’ve decided to tackle the mountain simultaneous as the current 2009 season airs. Really, why not?

Nagi Power
Doesn’t she look so pumped!?

I paused around episode 14 in the first season, which was right around the point after Hayate entered Hakou Academy; still early in the year. The second season picks up right around the end of January (remember Hayate’s chance encounter with Nagi occurred around Christmas ^^). I’ve also heard the current season “basically” begins where I left off… so why not?

There is no answer! 2-for-1’s every weekend? I’m in. Now, just how will I take the blend of the seasons? Will each season be distinguishable, or will each tuple of episodes generally yield a homogenized enjoyment factor? curious

Is it too much to keep up with?

始まりぞう〜! The Experiment! It has been declared!

I thing I like about this series is that it’s level of parodying isnt just limited to anime, but go beyond to films themselves, making it more entertaining than most parody anime which tend to just restrict to otaku jokes.

Whenever I watch anime I always look beyond the comedy. While Hayate may have its share of serious drama (from what I’ve read), I just didn’t think it was good enough for me.

I would guess my enjoyment comes from the comedy and the characters. Sure there is some dilema in the story, mainly Nishizawa, who is actually in a really sad position, but hardly gets justice.

It’s easy enjoyment with solid character variety. It’s not quite Sukuran with the cast-size, but its a nice blend.
