I mentioned that I wasn’t going to do Winter/Summer Priorities etc. I think the watch list is a good idea though. This season, I didn’t want a large pickup list, so I’m basically sticking to my roots with 5 series, most being single-season length (I think).

Aria Origination
Nothing wrong with the ARIA franchise; actually, cannot get enough of it. Clean slice, beautiful Aqua, awesome characters. This is where its at for the peace and rest.
I wish the manga was more available, oh but I guess there are a couple volumes released I’ve not read. Will do.
Starts: 2008 January 07 (Mondays)

Gunslinger Girl -Il Teatrino-
Loved GSG original. Can’t wait. I know the manga has some good depth, but I’m wonder where the story will start. Either way, more Henrietta moar Triela! More Beethoven? Who knows. This segment could very well be better than the first, and I’m hoping the focus is something different; I believe it was “triumph” in the first.
Cannot wait, but I said that already.
Starts: 2008 January 07 (Mondays)

Minami-ke O-kawari
May be a little less impressive than the Autumn 2007 version, but Minami-ke was such a delight, and there’s nothing wrong with more Haruka-Onee-sama and her awesome way about things.
I heard there was a switch between Kana and Chiaki, some sort of age mix or w/e; that’ll be interesting. I still ask, why a revision so soon? I’d rather have seen an extension to the Autumn 07 series, really.
Starts: 2008 January 06 (Sundays)

SZS II
May crash, but I’ve unfinished business with SZS, so I’m interested to see how this dark comedy sparks up. It may get boring for all I know, but yes there is hope. All I can ask for at this point is solid sub releases, because my Jpnese is only lingering… *needs practice* (too bad I’ve forgotten how to say a bunch of standard phrases in Spanish… they’ve all been replaced O_o… now I suck at two languages)
Anyway, I want more Kafuka and her poses!
Starts: 2008 January 05 (Saturdays)

Spice and Wolf
This is the only one I’m taking a chance on. I don’t know much about it, but supposedly fox-girls, etc. Yeaa, that’s nice… Anyway, it’s based on a light-novel with cute character designs; not super cute but nice. There are some sc/translations on #lurk so I may check them out before any subs get out.
Starts: 2008 January 08 (Tuesdays)
My sights are really set on the first two series. Even if all else fails Winter 2008 will be a solid season with those. I’m not taking part in some of the sequal series unless I get a chance to do some backlog marathoning. As for the Autumn roll-over, I’m content with the series that are still going esp Ghost Hound and Gundam 00. I’ve no intention of dropping much, but I may slack on the entries because of a new semester. (as always, watching > blogging about it)
Cheers to the Winter Season!

Heh. Even though I took a look at almost every first episode that came out (as usual), my actual watch list looks a lot like yours. I’m not watching GSG because I haven’t seen the first one yet, and I’m iffy about Spice and Wolf as well though. There’s just so much continuing from last season that actually picking up a lot of this season’s shows seems unnecessary. :3
Agreed. Last season was really fulfilling, so “less is more” I guess I’ll say. Marathon GSG when you get a chance, its quite a moving story, but also the manga is out there up to vol6 or so. From what Omni wrote, the first ep is part of the early first volume, so it may be able to stand alone.
So yea, other than Wolf and Spice (looks servicey), I feel comfortable/familiar with the titles for the season.
Hm … I have no desire to watch anything this season, sadly.
Its understandable though. Time-wise for me, I totally understand, because I’d rather not start anything new (Aria is about the only one I really truly want to enjoy, but its slice-of-life so it’s not like …. “OMG Cliffhanger”-style; watchable anytime, no rush).
desire is fun… using that word I guess I don’t have it either… Autumn is still plenty kicking anyway… EE
